Easy Like Sunday Morning
Sundays are for browsing, whether it's through the artisan food
market in the Peoples Park in Dun Laoghaire or vintage collectibles
in Cows Lane Fashion Market...Sundays are for strolling, looking,
buying and eating.
I very often stroll through Temple Bar on Sunday mornings. Less
than eight hours later and Temple Bar is a completely different place
on a Sunday morning than how it appears the night before. The cobblestones
are clean and free of tourists and locals on the rampage.
The Half Moon Crêpe Co., which is located in Crown Alley,
has a very loyal following; it's lively yet never noisy, the food
is excellent and always good value. Crépes start off around
€3.50 and there's a full assortment of both sweet and savoury
crépes, depending on your mood. The savoury offerings are
really good, Half Moon makes for an excellent lunchtime choice however,
take one look at the sweet crépes and it's hard to think of anything
else. A particular favourite is the pecan nut with chocolate sauce...utterly
divine, and perfect with a decent cup of coffee.
